The Events Manager will sit within the Consumer Division in our Marketing COE and be responsible for planning, implementing and executing unique and memorable internal and partner event experiences, including internal and externally hosted conferences, integrated with marketing initiatives designed to cultivate relationships, while generating new business outcomes. You will be supported by a Senior Events Specialist.

Responsibilities in the role:

  • Lead the execution of events and conferences from beginning to end, ensuring all events are unique, on time and to budget.
  • Lead the planning and execution of corporate hospitality arrangements through Allianz Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground.
  • Provide creative, innovative solutions in a changing environment and seek continuous improvement in future events for our people and partners.
  • Manage key contract negotiations to ensure favourable commercial and financial conditions for AAL, whilst ensuring mutual agreement between parties is achieved.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to be recognised as the trusted source of advice and support.
  • Lead the development of an event management framework to include project plans, business cases, briefing notes, necessary compliance sign off and post-event evaluations.
  • Own supplier relationships with Aventri and Work Incorporated (WINC) and lead the associated administration of their arrangements.
  • Lead the collaboration with marketing to ensure events align with our brand promise, deliver clear integration of key messages, and provide clear outcomes that should form part of ROI reporting
  • Ensure all events comply with regulatory and ethical standards such as Work Health and Safety, Allianz Hospitality and Sponsorship Standard and Gifts & Entertainment policy

To be successful in the role.

  • You’ll have a strong track record working in Corporate Event Management and have demonstrated an ability to deliver internal & external events that go above and beyond expectation
  • You’ll have a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and empower people, & to develop individual and team potential.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and can quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse team members.
  • Proven ability to articulate a customer centric culture and exemplify behaviours at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to make independent as well as collaborative decisions during expected or unexpected situations and then taking responsibility for the consequences of decisions taken.
  • Highly developed ‘first principles’ problem-solving skills, combined with a curious and creative mind-set.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders and marketing teams to cultivate business outcomes from event activity.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with clients, intermediaries, and service providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence
