A Thindi Chef works in a busy kitchen, with ultimate responsibility for producing excellent quality, consistently cooked food, presented beautifully. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Boss but also to the Unit Manager, the Chef looks after the quality of food , speed of service and coordinates with the rest of the team, especially the packer and kitchen boss.

Our unit is approx. 10 mins walk from nearest bus/luas stops.

Requirements

The Thindi Chefs’ responsibilities, include:
Business Activities

Taking ownership of the products being cooked and produced

Ensuring all HACCP & FIFO procedures and policies are followed

Communicating any stock issues with the Kitchen Boss & Unit Manager

Maintaining high levels of cleanliness throughout the kitchen

Maintaining records

Upskilling the team and aiding their progression

Aid in the training of new staff and cross training experienced staff when needed

Housekeeping:
Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health & safety.

Ensuring critical control points are monitored in line with our HACCP policies & procedures;

Estimating stock usage & checking stock usage

Making sure equipment is maintained and reporting any issues to the Kitchen Boss when needed

Monitor Food preparation and methods

Helping in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate.

Maintaining an excellent working relationship with the Kitchen Boss

Requirements:
6 months relevant Chef experience in the Restaurant / Hospitality industry (ideally Indian takeaway)

Excellent interpersonal skills

Strong written and oral communication skills (Fluent oral & written English is a must)

The ability to cope under pressure

Strong planning and organizational skills

Problem-solving ability to resolve issues as they arise
